KC Jones Plating Division
KC Jones is among the most experienced and versatile metal finishing operations in North America, providing surface protection and enhancement to the engineering properties of ferrous and nonferrous materials. Whether it is a dime-sized washer of five ton automotive injection mold, each part is processed to precise specifications and requirements. When finished parts leave our processing facility, they are stronger, more durable, and fully prepared to thrive in the most hostile wear and corrosive environments.
Located in Hazel Park, Michigan, the KC Jones Plating Division – also known as Chemetco – was incorporated in 1955. The company originally provided specialty metal finishing for the defense, aviation and emerging electronics industries. Growing rapidly on a philosophy of first-rate quality and service, the company also expanded through acquisition. Over the years, KC Jones built a reputation for innovation by developing processes, finishes and capacity to meet customer needs.
Recent achievements include a high volume precision process that deposits MiccrolloyTM bronze to the ID of gears, MiccrolloyTM electroless nickel boron plating for transmission thrust washers, firearms and aerospace components. KC Jones Plating Division is a charter member of the EPA Michigan Strategic Goals Program for the metal finishing industry. QS9000 Certification was acquired in 1998, ISO 9001:2008 quality certification was achieved in 2004.
